Abstract

This report, based on a chapter from Fiona Read's PhD thesis from 2016, uses data and samples from stranded porpoises to assess life history parameters and fishery bycatch mortality in Iberian porpoise, It suggests that fishery bycatch mortality may be unsustainably high. A second working paper will examine more recent evidence.
