Abstract
This paper has recently been accepted for publication at Marine Mammal Science as a note. It reports on the first accoustic data for southern right whales in the Eastern South Pacific. Recording location was in south of Isla de Chiloe, southern Chile and was associated with a visual sighting made on the area. This report supports the implementation of the PAM project currently being implemented with the support of the IWC and CMP, and provide promise for the use of passive acoustic monitoring in the conservation of this fragile subpopulation.
