Records of live stranded and rescued humpback whales, and entanglements during apparent feeding behaviors in mid-latitude waters off SE Brazil are reported. This is the first documented observation of feeding behavior of humpback whales plunge diving in pursuit of shrimp or squid in Brazilian waters.
