The report takes note of IWC Resolution 2022/1 on marine debris and its particular requests to the Scientific Committee and Secretariat. The report outlines work conducted to date in response to this by the ICG, including the development of draft questionnaire on Fisheries Gear Marking. Another annex provides an update of progress made towards a Global Plastics Treaty. Opportunities for collaboration with other bodies, including the Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Species, ASCOBANS and ACCOBANS are highlighted. The report and its annexes are intended to assist further discussions in the SC.
