Abstract
A sex- and age-aggregated population dynamics model that can represent multiple breeding stocks, each of which may be located on multiple feeding grounds is outlined. The values for the parameters of this population dynamics model can be estimated by fitting it to data on trends in relative and absolute abundance, and mixing rates based on mark-recapture and genetics data. The model can allow for time variation in survival to mimic recent large changes in abundance. Results of preliminary applications of the model are presented for a base-case model and sensitivity scenarios, based on four stock structure hypotheses identified by the Scientific Committee.
