Abstract

We monitored on the developed system for the finless porpoise escaping from the stow net. The tested systems were 1) gear without escaping device, 2) escaping device with mesh size of 370mm in guide net, and 3) escaping device with mesh size of 450mm. The tests were held in the sea around Seocheon, Chungnam. 18 vessels with improved stow net for coast joined in this monitoring that were held for 1,076 days (62 days/ship).
