Guidance on Drafting Recommendations for the Conservation
Committee in light of the new IWC Database of Recommendations
This document provides guidance on drafting concise, standalone recommendations for Conservation
Committee Reports in such a format that will help greatly with their entry into the IWC Database of
Recommendations and at the same time, ensure clarity for implementation, including timeline,
responsibility, and deliverables. This guidance document will be regularly reviewed on the basis of
experience and feedback and as use of the Database of Recommendations evolves.
