Remote electronic monitoring of marine turtle bycatch in the Eastern Pacific

Shellcatch has developed and applied its electronic
monitoring system technology and functionality to 500+ smallscale
fishing vessels in the Eastern Pacific of Latin America.
Recent hardware improvements combined with optimized Artificial
Intelligence algorithm and improved web platform have
increased the detection rates and accuracy of various classes of
bycatch (average score = ~85-90%) while reducing dependency
on human observers.
